Perch: an artist’s studio

A space perched lightly on the land, made with sustainable materials and honouring the natural world that surrounds it.

A space to perch as we explore the worlds within and around us through creativity, connection and ritual.

A space to perch as we watch the seasons change around us, to observe how we change too.

We’re so excited – it’s official! Our self-build artist studio has been granted planning permission!

Designed by the brilliant Kate and Graham @commonbond.architects, the small hempcrete and timber studio will be lifted off the ground on screw piles and clad in charred timber shingles. It has been designed in a way that celebrates the environment it sits within while providing a light-filled and functional space for creativity to thrive. Tucked within our garden, the trees, seasonal changes and natural wildlife are as important to us as the building itself.

Follow us over the next year as we bring this vision into the real world. Much more to come…!

This concept collage is courtesy of @commonbond.architects and was inspired by the work of Belgian surrealist Rene Magritte. Check out their own inspiring self-build project @gardenhide.studio
